Absolutely loved the culinary scene nearby! Rose Garden Mezze (only 0.3 km away) and Myterrace Cafe (just 0.3 km) were highlights for scrumptious dining. The rooftop breakfast with a fine view was the cherry on top. The location was on point for exploring nearby attractions like the Hagia Sophia, all within a short stroll.
The main problem with Dara Old City Hotel is the dishonesty with the means of payment. They make it seem like they accept American Express, but after several attempts at check-in, I found out they don't! In the end, I had to pay with a VISA card after an unnecessary hassle and expensive phone call to confirm my Amex was valid.

Sensational breakfast; recommended. A safe, a mini-bar, and central heating available in the single room. Excellent and perfect location in Old City Sultanahmet district not far from tramway station and ferribot port, and Istanbul...

It's a great location. main sights are within walking distance. Cleaning every day. Clean up well, change bed linens and towels every day. breakfasts are quite bearable. We were on New Year's Eve, room is very warm.
Soundproofing wouldn't hurt.

The hotel boasts a fine rooftop terrace overlooking the sea, perfect for evening relaxation. Breakfast options were varied, with traditional Turkish kahvalti, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The personnel were friendly and accommodating. The soundproofing in the rooms left much to be desired. I could hear neighbors quite clearly, which disrupted my rest. The room was on the small side, not ideal for anyone with more luggage. Though the location was convenient for sightseeing, be prepared for a steep uphill walk back to the hotel after exploring. The mini fridge didn't work unless the keycard was inserted, a bit inconvenient. The hotel is cozy, but a few improvements would really enhance the experience.

Very clean room, central location and as we booked early, we got a very good rate.
Very small room. Actually this is the only hotel room I've ever stayed in, where there wasn't a wardrobe available. You have to hang your clothes on a wall hanger! By European standards, I think that the room would pass for a single room but definitely not a double room. By American stands, no comment!

The staff at Dara Hotel was supreme, always helpful and ready to answer any question one might about hotel or about sight seeing. The room I was given was small but beds were comfortable. The most important thing was that I wanted one room for 6 of us and they had it for a good price. I wanted my children with me in the same room. Internet connection was excellent and every major attraction was at comfortably walking distance and easy access to trains. Mconalds and tons of Turkish restaurants are in EZ access. I would try them again.
For a choosy person like me break fast was a little weak. Improvement in this area would really be something Dara Hotel would like to look into. A mix of Turkish and Continental break fast would be great.

The highlight was undoubtedly the spacious breakfast area with creative salads and a fine view. The staff's attentiveness, particularly in swiftly repairing the bathroom light, showcased their dedication. The noise from neighboring rooms was quite disruptive at times, and the uphill walk back from the main attractions can be taxing after a long day of sightseeing. Room size felt cramped with luggage.

The helpfull of most staff. The big welcome smile of watress.
Very very small rooms that you hardly can move inside the room. These rooms are not good for couples nor families. They might be suitable for singles. Its location is not convenient for walking nor it is easy to reach public transportation. It could be good for athletes since it is located in very steep road. The hotel management never declare these facts about room sizes. In addition, they apply stringent cancellation policy, by applying the full period charging in case of cancelling.

Very nice rooftop terrace where the breakfast buffet was served daily.
There seemed to be a problem with the bathroom plumbing which resulted in an unpleasant order.

Hospitality of the staff. Location just next door to a beautiful local mosque, hammam on the left and tramway station and ferribot port and touristic attractions. Outstanding food in the restaurants such as Grup Restaurant, located 5 min away...
